Meet the founders

Laverne Badger

LaVerne is the co-founder of ExPOSED Inc,. She is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, author, motivational speaker, advocate, community leader, and above all—a THRIVER.

Her journey to healing took a pivotal turn when she courageously shared her own story of domestic violence through her autobiography, Overcoming The Darkness: Surviving Domestic Violence. What began as an act of vulnerability became the spark that transformed her pain into purpose and power.

LaVerne believes that transparency builds strength and is the key to jumpstarting the healing process—ultimately leading each of us to our purpose and personal power. Her hope is that by sharing her truth, she gives other survivors permission to stand in theirs without shame.

Recognizing that ending domestic abuse requires collective action, LaVerne is also deeply committed to engaging men as vital partners in this mission. She actively works to include, encourage, and collaborate with men in the effort to create a world free from violence against women.

Natalie Hayden

Natalie Hayden is a steadfast co-founder of ExPOSED Inc., embodying resilience and purpose after overcoming domestic abuse. With more than eight years of service, she has transformed her journey from survivor to thriver—using her voice, platform, and lived experiences to empower others and champion healthy relationships.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Natalie’s path shifted after leaving a 12-year unhealthy marriage.  Guided by faith, love, compassion, and hope, she turned her pain into purpose, determined to inspire others to believe that healing is possible. Her greatest motivation is her daughter, Rylee—her “why” in the pursuit of a safer, healthier future for all.

She also deeply values the power of healthy sisterhood and strong female relationships, believing that women supporting women is essential for both personal healing and community transformation.

Today, Natalie serves as a community philanthropist and has spent the past several years as a Commissioner with the City of Milwaukee, including a two-year term as Vice Chair Executive Commissioner of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. She collaborates with organizations, leaders, and advocates to address domestic violence as the urgent public health issue it is.

Her work bridges awareness, education, and action—whether at the grassroots level or at decision-making tables—always with the goal of creating safer, healthier communities.

A beacon of hope and tenacity, Natalie lives by the words of Nelson Mandela: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” Her story is a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and collective action to bring lasting change.
